2002 Windows Workarounds and Other Problems

Problem: The Uninstaller present within the program is not working properly.

Solution: To correct this problem, follow these steps:

1. Close TaxCut for Business 2002, if it is running.
2. Click here to download the Program Engine Update ("BusEngUpd.exe").
3. Save the file to your Desktop.
4. Once downloaded, double-click on the "BusEngUpd.exe" file. The program will automatically update your TaxCut Business program.

You can now successfully uninstall the program. To uninstall the program go to the:C:\Program Files\TAXCUT2002\ folder.

You can reach this folder by double-clicking on the My Computer Icon, then the C:\\ Drive, then the Program Files Folder, and finally the TAXCUT2002 FOLDER. (Assuming you have installed the program in the default location.)

Once there, you can uninstall the program by and clicking on the "Uninstal" Red X icon.

Select the No option the Refund.exe dialogue box, and then follow the instructions displayed by the program to uninstall it.

Problem: Abnormal Form Behavior or file corruption problems.

Solution: Download the Program Engine Update by following the directions below. This program update will also fix issues relating to Uninstalling TaxCut for Business, as well as problems installing the Business State from CD-ROM.

To download and install the Program Engine Update follow the instructions below:

1. Close TaxCut for Business 2002.
2. Click here to download the Program Engine Update ("BusEngUpd.exe").
3. Save the file to your Desktop.
4. Once downloaded, double-click on the "BusEngUpd.exe" file. The program will automatically update your TaxCut Business program.
5. Re-Open TaxCut Business 2002.

Problem: Some users who have purchased a Business State CD-ROM are unable to access their Business State programs after installing from the Business State CD-ROM.

Solution: If you have already attempted to install your Business State but are unable to access your State tax forms, you can correct the problem by following the directions below. You will need to download the Business State Patch to correct the problem.

Download the Business State Patch by following the directions below. This patch will update your Business Program so that you are able to access the Business State program which you previously attempted to install.

To download and install the Business State Patch follow the instructions below:

1. Close TaxCut for Business 2002.
2. Click here to download the Business State Patch ("StateCDPatch.exe").
3. Save the file to your Desktop.
4. Once downloaded, be sure to have the Business State CD-ROM in your CD-ROM Drive.
5. Then double-click on the "StateCDPatch.exe" file which you just downloaded and follow the instructions displayed by the program. The patch will automatically update your TaxCut Business program so that you can now access the Business State forms which you previously installed.
