Move a copy of your 2002 return file from the computer with which you created it to the computer from which you plan to e-file.
Most users accomplish this by saving a copy of their return to a floppy diskette, and then loading the diskette in the computer to be used for e-filing.
To do this:- Open your 2002 return with TaxCut and select Save As from the File menu.
- Click the Browse button to navigate to your disk drive (Drive A: on most computers).
- Click the Save button and keep the diskette handy for loading on the other computer.
The name of your return file is a combination of what you saved it as and the file extension .T02. For example, if you saved your return as MyTaxes, look for a file named MyTaxes.T02.
You can also use Windows Explorer to copy your return file. If you accepted TaxCut's default folder recommendations, TaxCut places your return in the following directory: C:/TaxCut02/Program/TaxData/
- Make sure you are connected to the Internet, and launch TaxCut on the computer from which you want to e-file.
- Open your 2002 return by selecting Open from the File menu and navigating to your return file (if you saved your file to diskette, make sure the diskette is in the disk drive); select your return file and then click the Open button.
- Click the File tab and follow the instructions to file electronically.
- Close TaxCut if it is open.
- Open Money.
-
Do one of the following:
- If you are using Money 2002 or Money 2003, go to Money's Taxes menu and select Export to TaxCut.
- If you are using Money 2001, go to Money's Taxes menu, choose TaxCenter, and from this screen select Export To TaxCut.
- Choose the tax year 2002 on the first screen, then check the categories you want to import on the second screen.
- With Money open, start TaxCut as you normally would (from the Start menu or the TaxCut shortcut icon).
- Go through the Welcome to TaxCut Interview. If you need to go to this Interview, click the Take Me To...button, scroll to the top of the list, and click Welcome to TaxCut.
- If you need to load a tax return file from last year as well as import data from Money, check both boxes on the "Before You Begin" screen. Follow the instructions on the Load Last Year's Data screen.
- From the Import Financial Information screen, follow the steps to import your financial information from Money.
- Close TaxCut.
- Open the CD-ROM drive, then close it.
- If TaxCut doesn't launch automatically, click Start, and then select Programs, TaxCut 2002, and then click TaxCut 2002.

E-filing Over a Proxy Server Proxy servers are mostly used in large networks. If you must enter a username and password to gain Internet access, especially from your place of work or school, you may rely on a proxy server. If you have an individual local dial-up, cable, or DSL Internet account, it's unlikely you use a proxy server.
Problem:
TaxCut does not support e-filing over proxy servers that are configured to require username/password authentication.
If you don't have access to another computer with non-proxy Internet access, you must file a standard paper return. Return to list of 2002 Windows Workarounds and Other Notices
