ISSUE:
Error: 'Run-time error 3433' Business Program.
RESOLUTION:
When installing the Business Program, the following error may appear:
Run-time error '3433': Invalid setting in Excel Key of the engine section of the Windows Registry.
Cause: A Windows registry setting does not contain the correct value.
To download and install a patch to correct the registry, follow the instructions for your operating system:
Windows 2000/XP/NT:
The MSTextWINNT.reg file can be used to safely write the correct registry keys to the Windows registry. To download and install the file:
- Click the following link to download MSTextWINNT.reg and save it to the desktop.

- When prompted to write the changes to the Windows registry, click Yes.
- Restart the computer for the changes to take effect.
- Reinstall the H&R Block Business program.
