To download a previous year's update for a TaxCut State program from our Web site, follow the steps for your operating system:

Windows

1. Open your Internet browser, and go to http://www.taxcut.com/updates/prior_years
2. Scroll to the Updates section for the Tax Year Edition you want to update.
3. Click the State Edition -- Windows link.
4. Click on the click here link in the first paragraph. This takes you to a list of all the available state updates.
5. Click on your state. Your browser will prompt you to save the file. File names change from year to year, but will be a variation of the following:
   Product, tax year (or suffix), state name (or abbreviation) and a letter indicating the update version followed by .exe.
6. Save this file to your Desktop, and then move it to a safe place. Write down the file's new location.

   Note: We recommend that you do not save the update file in the TaxCutXX folder, where XX is the last two digits of the year.

Macintosh

Note: Taxcut 2005 does not support the Macintosh.

1. Open your Internet browser, and go to http://www.taxcut.com/updates/prior_years
2. Scroll to the Updates section for the Tax Year Edition you want to update.
3. Click the State Edition -- Macintosh link.
4. Click on the click here link in the first paragraph. This takes you to a list of all the available state updates.
5. Click on your state. Note: Macintosh updates are not available for all states because some states are fully updated when released. Your browser will prompt you to save the file. File names change from year to year, but will be a variation of the following:
   Product, tax year (or suffix), state name (or abbreviation) and a letter indicating the update version followed by the file extension valid for that year.
   (2003 uses .sit, 2002 uses .bin and years prior to 2002 use .hqx)
6. Save this file to your Desktop, and then move it to a safe place. Write down the file's new location.

   Note: We recommend that you do not save the update file in the TaxCut## folder, where ## are the last two digits of the year, folder.
